David Hawley Web Design FAQ

Updated 20:58 13th November 2006

This is a section of questions that we often get asked about our web design projects. If you feel this page doesn't really answer your question then we're happy to assist you further, so please feel free to Contact Us here at David Hawley Web Design.

Do you do anything else apart from web design?

Yes, as well as web design we have a range of other services available such as logo design, fontography and icon design. For more information check the Other Services section

Where are you based?

Our web design business is based in Sheffield, Yorkshire in the UK. If you're not in Sheffield then that needn't be a problem. We communicate with clients regularly by phone and email, and we also travel to clients when it's required.

How long will it take?

The length of a web design project depends on different factors including the size and complexity of the design and the volume of other work we have ongoing. You can get a more definite answer on the time by either using the Quote or Contact us section and detailing your vision for your site.

I don't have a web site or a web address, do I need one?

If you don't already have a web address we can organise that for you as part of the web design package.

What experience do you have?

To see examples of our previous work check out the Portfolio section. We have years of experience in web design, as well as having a solid foundation in computer science academia.

What are your prices?

Our web design doesn't cost the earth so you can start taking full advantage of the web easily. Generally we work on a hourly rate, but we can also work to a fixed price. Whatever you require, and however much your budget allows, we will work with you to utilise your budget to get the best web site design you can buy.

How do people find my site?

Your website can be seen by anyone in the world. So it's important that the right people find your site! That's why when your site is created we optimise the pages so that in a search engine such as Google your websites pages appear as high as possible, so more people will visit your site.

What technology do you use?

We design our sites to be as simple and as accessible as possible, so the use of technology in our web design is only used if it's called for. Our basic sites use XHTML and CSS, and for a more interactive site we may use Adobe Flash and ActionScript. For sites that need to store data and allow things like selling and managing content we tend to use ASP.net, PHP and SQL databases.
